Argentina Beats Switzerland to Reach World Cup Semifinals

Defending champions Argentina have secured their spot in the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Argentina booked their ticket to the World Cup semifinals for the seventh time by defeating Switzerland 3–1 in the final quarterfinal match, which concluded on Sunday morning at the Kansas City Stadium in the United States.

Displaying an aggressive performance throughout the match, Argentina took the lead in the first half. Maintaining the pressure in the second half, they scored two more goals to pull off a comfortable victory over Switzerland. Although Switzerland pulled one goal back, they failed to make a comeback in the game.

With this victory, Argentina has moved one step closer to their goal of defending the title. Argentina will now face another formidable opponent, England, in the semifinals for a spot in the final.
