Actresses Keki and Anjana Play 'Deusi Bhailo' for 'Paran' Movie

Kathmandu.As the Tihar festival begins, today marks the second day of Yamapanchak, with Laxmi Puja being performed in homes across the country. Amidst this festive atmosphere, celebrities are also preparing for the rituals. Today is also Kukur Tihar (Day of the Dogs), celebrated by offering delicious food to dogs.

In the midst of the festive cheer, the film 'Paran' is preparing for its release right after Tihar, set for Kartik 14 (October 31, 2025). The movie's two main actresses, Keki Adhikari and Anjana Baraili, played a round of Deusi (a traditional Tihar song and dance performance) on the evening of the first day of Yamapanchak.

The 'Paran' team participated in a special Deusi Bhailo program organized by the National Folk Communication Workers Nepal at the Indreni Society Hall on Sunday. Actresses Keki and Anjana were joined by the film's director, Deepak Prasad Acharya, Production Manager Anish Adhikari, and Samar Chaulagain, among others. The hour-long Deusi program started at 5 p.m.

The event was facilitated by personalities including Indreni Society Chairman Krishna Kandel, singers Saroj Lamichhane, Yuvraj Chaulagain, and singer Shila Ale.

The spokesperson for the National Folk Communication Workers Nepal, Shikhar Jang Shrestha, welcomed the cast and started the Deusi bhatyaune (chanting the traditional verses). Following him, singer Saroj Lamichhane chanted a welcome Deusi. Director Deepak Prasad Acharya then spoke about the film and chanted Deusi verses incorporating special phrases related to 'Paran'. Actress Keki Adhikari also chanted Deusi while singing a Tihar song.

The other actress, Anjana Baraili, fondly recalled her childhood memories of the Tihar festival. Production Manager Anish Adhikari enlivened the mood by singing a beautiful Tihar-special song.

Actress Keki mentioned that happiness spreads as soon as Tihar begins because of the bright lights and decorations everywhere.

Meanwhile, Chandra Mani Gautam, President of the National Folk Communication Workers Nepal, stated that the organization held the Deusi Bhailo program in collaboration with the Indreni Society, placing special emphasis on preserving cultural originality. He also expressed his delight at welcoming the 'Paran' team, as their film embodies this cultural originality.
