Kathmandu — Director Milan Chams, who has proven himself as a top filmmaker through his direction of various genre films such as Bir Bikram, Lily Bily, Blind Rocks, Bobby, Gorkha Warrior, and Anjila, has signed actor Kunsang Bomjan for his upcoming love story film Sumnima.

Kunsang Bomjan expressed that getting the opportunity to work in a Milan Chams film is a matter of pride for him. He said he will give his full dedication and effort to establish himself through this film, which marks his debut as a lead actor. Sumnima is expected to be a stepping stone in Bomjan’s career.

Although the title Sumnima may sound like a woman-centric story, director Chams clarified that the film is a pure love story. The film will be jointly produced by Gorkha Films and Chams Entertainment. Upasana Singh Thakuri has already been signed as the lead actress. The selection of other cast and crew members is currently underway, according to Chams.

Director Chams also mentioned that the film will be developed with a universal story in mind, aiming for the international market.

Written by Rajiv Thapa, Sumnima is scheduled to be filmed in London and Nepal this coming August. Chams’ previous directorial venture Anjila was a blockbuster hit and holds the record for the highest-grossing biopic film in Nepal.
