Movie 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1' Gets Excellent Response at Premiere

Kathmandu. The film 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1' received an excellent response at its premiere. At the premiere held on Monday evening at QFX in Labim Mall, Lalitpur, the audience who watched the cinema called 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1' outstanding.

Most praised the film's surprising story, narrative style, and acting. A large number of artists who attended the premiere said that the suspense thriller drama has the capacity to keep the audience hooked.

Directors, artists, and producers commented that the curiosity-generating story is the strong point of the cinema, and the performance of the actors made the film even stronger.

After watching 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1', actor Divyadev Panta openly praised it. Speaking to media personnel after attending and watching the film at the premiere show, he commented that the storyline, direction, and acting of the artists in 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1' were excellent.

In the conversation, Divyadev particularly highlighted the presentation of the female artists in the film. He said, "The film has broken the tradition of how female characters were usually shown or convinced in cinema. In terms of performance, it is absolutely outstanding."

Praising the filmmaking, Divyadev appreciated the courage of the producer Vinod (Vinod Paudel). He said, "Just like in 'Purnabahadurko Sarangi', Vinod Dai has trusted 'underrated' (talented but overshadowed) artists in this one too. Instead of looking for big-name stars in the market, he has invested in good artists, a good director, and a strong story. The result of this is visible in 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1'."

When asked why to watch 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1', Divyadev advised the audience to go to the theaters without hesitation. He clarified that he was not just praising it formally because he attended the premiere, saying, "You might think artists just say good things at a premiere, but I am saying this from my heart, this film's story keeps you hooked. You will not regret watching this film."

Director Shovit Basnet, analyzing the change in the Nepali cinema sector, said, "Currently, in most Nepali films that are doing well, films by 'artists' (talented performers) are running. Before, films by 'stars' used to run, now films by artists are starting to run." He said that the audience has now started prioritizing acting and talent over just faces.

Speaking about the storyline of 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1', he said, "It keeps you absolutely hooked till the end. The curiosity of 'what happens next, what happens next' is visible at every moment in the film."

Praising the main character of the film, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, he said, "Abhimanyu also has a supremely good artist like Kameshwor, and because of that, this film should run." He expressed confidence that this time will be good, even though some incidents occurred during the releases of Kameshwor's past films. He also mentioned that Seven Seas Cinema has made this film as good as 'Purnabahadurko Sarangi'.

Model and actress Alisha Bastola said that she felt from within that the film will be a 'blockbuster'. She said, "The way we watch South Indian films with great curiosity, this film is also watched like that until the end, asking 'what happens next, what happens next'."

She described every aspect of the film as 'authentic' and excellent. Stating that she debuted under the Seven Seas banner, she wished, "It's my own banner, I really wish it breaks the record of 'Purnabahadurko Sarangi'. Best wishes."

Another model and actress Rusha Neupane said that a different kind of film has arrived compared to the ongoing trend in Nepal, guaranteeing that the audience will not regret watching it and urging them to come to the theaters. She stated, "While family dramas and sentimental films are running in Nepal, this suspense thriller and female-centric cinema has arrived. This will encourage producers to explore new genres."

Praising the role played by actress Laxmi Bardewa, she said, "She has done justice to it, but being an actor, seeing that character, I felt like, 'I wish I could have done this role'."

Comedian Bharatamani Paudel commented that the film addresses a serious social issue like the dowry system and is full of suspense.

The film 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1' will be released this Thursday. Produced by Seven Seas Cinema, 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1' stars Kameshwor Chaurasiya, Sarita Giri, Kiran Shrestha, Laxmi Bardewa, Gaumaya Gurung, Prakash Dahal, and Shishir Wangdel in the main roles.

After the premiere, the lead actor of the film, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, appeared quite emotional in front of the media. Expressing happiness at finally getting a lead role after a long struggle, he said, "To become an artist, you really need a script. Everyone appreciated the work I did so far, but a strong written document is required for a lead character. Whatever I did was for the purpose of reaching here."

Kiran Shrestha expressed happiness at getting to work with experienced and veteran artists in 'Abhimanyu: Chapter-1'. When asked, "You've done better work than expected, haven't you?" he accepted with a smile and expressed satisfaction with his role. He expressed joy that his hard work was visible on screen.

Actress Laxmi Bardewa revealed that she was pregnant while shooting for this film. She said that she liked the character since reading the script and decided to work because the film's team and storyline were excellent, despite her complicated physical condition. She said, "I found the film even better on screen than when I first read the script."

Another actress, Sarita Giri, said she was happy to see 'Abhimanyu' as a female-centric film where the male characters support the female characters, especially at a time when male-dominated films are being made.

Sushant Gautam directed 'Abhimanyu', and Madan Thapa is the creative director. Mukesh Khanal wrote the film.

The producers of 'Abhimanyu: Chapter 1' are Binod Paudel and Gunjan Giri. Ramesh Chaulagain and Hari Shrestha are co-producers, and the executive producers are Bishal Lama, Hari Moktan, Krishna Bhattarai, Nirajan Luintel, and Sandesh Shrestha. Jiwan Shakya is the line producer for the cinema.

Sharad Mahato is the DOP for this film, with Manoj Shrestha handling VFX, Junim Gahatraj doing the color grading, and Madan Ghimire as the editor.

The film is being released in both Nepali and Hindi languages across Nepal and globally.
