8th National Flag Day Grandly Celebrated in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, Poush 1. The 8th National Flag Day was celebrated grandly today in Basantapur, Kathmandu, under the slogan: "Our Pride, Our Self-Respect, the National Flag is Our Identity." Youths of various ages attended the program carrying the national flag.
According to Rajananda Mandavya, founder of the National Heritage Conservation Foundation Nepal (Rastriya Dharohar Sanrakshan Pratisthan Nepal), Flag Day was established with the objective of disseminating the dignity, glory, and historical importance of the national flag to the general public. This campaign is also significantly contributing to the preservation of Nepal's unique culture, traditional attire, and cultural identity.
Special guest and world cyclist Pushkar Shah conveyed his best wishes for the National Flag Day while on a cycling trip. This day, which began on Poush 1, 2075 BS, has played a crucial role in introducing Nepal's cultural and national identity to the world and keeping the importance of the national flag alive.
Founder Mandavya expressed confidence that Flag Day will help keep Nepal's national identity and pride alive forever.
