Kathmandu, Dec 3 : Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Parbat Gurung has said Regulations related to the rights of people with disabilities would be brought soon.”Preparations are being made to bring Regulation to prevent people with disabilities from being deprived of their rights and facilities. The support and cooperation of all the sides concerned is required to that end,” he said while addressing a programme organized to mark the 28th International Day of Persons with Disabilities here today. The programme was organized by the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal.
According to Minister Gurung, the Ministry for Women, Children and Senior Citizens is preparing to publish a national report on disability for the first time in the country. On the occasion, he vowed that the government was ready to move ahead by coordinating with the stakeholders to make the policy and laws related to disability inclusive. Ministry secretary Chandra Kumar Ghimire urged all sides concerned to work for the uplift of people with disabilities. (RSS)
